Sweet! What fun. We've been doing a little excavation at my place too, but not so much distance.
You are right that your machines are a little undersized for so aggressive a project :) I had an old 955 Cat here, fairly good size crawler loader, and a monster Gehl 7800 skid. Still not very big by modern standards. A friend has an outdoor arena built on a hilltop and they had multiple D9 dozers!
