I see, the version that you have has the art that was used on the 2008 Special Edition DVD here. What i have is the 2012 re release with different artwork as you saw in the photo.
It's more or less a similar idea to this artwork here, other than that Thomas and Duchess' places on top are reversed and the kittens are on the film logo in the center.

Huh that's odd because the edition of the film with that artwork that came out here in '08 was initially announced as a 2 disc special edition set, it was supposed to release here in the States back in early 2007 but Disney delayed it to a year later and downgraded it to a one disc edition.
For some reason they still billed it as a Special Edition even though it was reduced to a one disc release.
