Decepticon Floodlight joined the fight on Earth after the call was put out among the stars that Megatron had been vanquished. Without an organized leader, Floodlight took to the stars toward this new planet, appreciating the lack of leadership. Floodlight does not like to have the scars in his armor repaired, even the ones severly damaging his optic sensors. Back on Cybertron, Floodlight was a mine worker, digging out tunnels to retrieve more energon for the decepticons int he Great War. Floodlight chose the first thing he saw on Earth as an alternate mode, a simple midnight black sedan with headlights so bright, even the nearly blind mining worker could see.

With his purpose of mining defeated, the newly baptized warrior was seen fit to have nearly no allowance in fighting in the new war on earth, because Floodlight could never pass firearms training, nearly shooting one of his own comrades in a training simulator from his poor vision. To overcompensate, Floodlight uses his claws to fight, while blinding enemies with powerful flashes of light.
