Trying to find leads in an investigation is no easy task at all, people around the Bronx and Brooklyn didn’t want to work with the police in anyway. With the Cyber Marshals there it helped to some extent getting some word or rumors off the streets. Yet it still wasn’t enough to help them through it, one case in particular a involved furson trafficking case. According to reports a dozen young girls between the ages of 14 and 19 disappeared while coming home from school. The only evidence they been able to pick up was that the culprits were members of the PDI street gang or the “perros del Inferno” one of the most dangerous street gangs in NYC. Armed with a handful of warrants both Bessie and Roxanne arrested several gang members who were suspected in being connected to these disappearances. Yet despite hours of interrogations of a handful of suspects the CM and the NYPD came up empty handed. As if the trail seemed to be getting cold the local police investigators got a tip from a source who they later passed on to Bessie.
At that time Bessie was sitting at a café table looking down at the multiple pictures of the missing girls which were provided by the families. She let out a long sigh feeling the helplessness that these girls might possibly be a thousand miles from home by now. As she was flipping through pages she saw her partner approach the table with a tray of muffins and coffee cups in hand.
“hey boss just got a call from the lead investigator he said that someone might have very important information on that supposed trafficking group” she said
Bessie who was busy writing up her reports raised an eyebrow “really now? did they say who it was that spoke to them?” she asked. Just as she asked that her phone which was placed on the table suddenly rang, the caller ID marked as unknown. She looked at it for a few seconds wondering who it could be before she answered it.
“this is Vicky” she said, the other line was quiet for a few seconds “hello?” again no reply.
“ I heard you were looking in on that smuggling operation?” a male voice said. Bessie looked at Roxanne in question. “annnnd who might I be talking to?” she asked.
There line was silent for a moment “ I hope by now you have some news for the parents who’s kids went missing a month ago” he asked “ with all that tech that you possess it’s embarrassing that all you could do was make some arrests to make it look like you made some progress.” He said over the phone
Bessie was speechless for a moment “ok I don’t know what sick joke you might be playing at but whoever you are who is this and how did you get this number” she said with a stern voice at the same time she put the phone on speaker so her partner could hear in the conversation.
“if I were playing some sick joke you think I would call this number to start with?” he said. Bessie sighed “so I assume this call is regarding something important? What do you have to share with me?” she asked putting her hand on her hip.
For a few seconds the line was quiet “you there?” she asked
“I want to come and see you, under my conditions though” the male voice said over the phone
Bessie looked at her fellow CM “and what that be?” she asked
“ meet me at 62nd street, central park by the Balto statue, 9pm sharp, Come by alone, bring your phone” he said
Bessie looked at the Roxy for a moment who was quickly writing down the info “ well I gotta say given the fact you called this number so suddenly and we don’t know each other can I ask what if I can’t find you better yet what if you can’t find me there?” she asked
“ if your so concerned about that it’s easy, bring that corny looking trench coat your wearing now ” he said before the he hung up.
Both Bessie and Roxy looked at the phone in shock before she looked at her surrounding knowing that their being watched. Roxy after hearing that felt a chill go up her spine as she looked around trying to spot suspiciousness.
“what the hell is this all about” Roxanne asked looking at her boss. Bessie looked around before looking at the documents on the table. “I don’t know girl but whatever it is I hope this is a good lead otherwise this case is dead in the water.” She said as she sipped her coffee while keeping an eye out.
Later that night
Bessie kept who was seated on a bench looking up at the statue of the famous husky while waiting for her informant to arrive. Roxanne earlier asked if she could she can provide some cover for her just in case this guy decided to do something fishy. But Bessie after some long thought decided she was going to go alone which she hoped was the right choice given the sensitivity of this case. The night had been very quiet with the park was almost deserted aside from the few passing by going about their business. It’s been over half an hour and still no sign of the furson. After nearly an hour she was about to call it a night to her disappointment. But as soon as she was about to depart the street lamps around her suddenly began to flicker almost losing circuit before they went back to normal.
“that was…interesting” she said to herself. As she turned back around she was startled to see a figure wearing a black hooded sweater standing in front of the Balto statue reading the carved writings out loud.
“Dedicated to the Indomitable spirit of THE SLED DOGS who relayed antitoxins six hundred miles over rough ice, across treacherous waters, through Arctic blizzards from Nenana to the relief of stricken Nome in the Winter of 1925” He read as he turned to face the taller bovine.
The figure was a tall around the 6ft range yet he was still dwarfed compared to Bessie’s size. from what Bessie could observe the male was a badger just by looking at his tail, but couldn’t see his face well other than his muzzle. “ possibly one of my favorite stories I read growing up, it takes a lot courage, bravery and intelligence to pull something this dangerous. Needless to say many of those children lived up to tell their story to their grandchildren.” He said
Bessie stood there thinking who the hell is this guy and where the hell did he come out from. She held a ready stance while cautiously approaching him, preparing for anything that he might throw at her. For all she knows he could be involved with anyone, a gang, the mob, he may be a hit man for hire worse maybe a unknown super villain. Who knows. For her she wouldn’t take any chances if her life depended on it that’s a sure thing.
“ are you the one I’m expecting?” she asked him. he looked at her for a moment before reaching into his sweater. Bessie right then showed an aggressive posture ready to strike at a moment’s notice.
The hooded guy raised his hand to assure her no harm before he pulled out a folder loaded with files. “ I’m sure we’re on the same page here you and I both want to see these kids back home safe with their families. And you probably want to show the public they can trust you more than the NYPD because from the looks of it your relation with them is in the toilet” he said as he showed her the raised the files up to show her.
“ that could be the case but as a leader of the Cyber Marshals I have a great responsibility at hand, and the city entrusts me fully to perform this task” she said “ that being said on behalf of the families of these kids I trust you might have something that could lead to their return.” She said
The badger looked at her for a moment before he began to laugh “ lady instead of making a speech all you could have said was may I PLEASE have the files and I would have kindly handed them to you” he said
Bessie grunted to her annoyance before she reached out and took the files from him. she opened the folder and looked through the papers stabled together.
“ a thank you would have been nice right” he said sarcastically. Bessie looked at him raising a brow “ right thank you for this but I want to make sure what I’m looking at is legit don’t you think”
He raised his shoulders “ we can be here all night talking every criminal that’s in those files or you can start planning out your ambush at pier 18 right now” he said. Bessie closed the folder before crossing her arms “ what do you mean ambush at pier 18 is there something else you care to share” she asked
“ I’m not sugar coating it lady and as of now we don’t have much time to talk about it, right now these people are holed up at the docks right now and in about 2 hours the ship will be departing for Miami so if I were you I would be searching for clues right about now.” he said looking at his watch
Bessie rubbed her forehead thinking for a moment “ so this whole time you had the whereabouts on these people and you didn’t report it to the police or anyone” she said angrily. He looked up at her and sighed “ well if I were to report it right away there is a chance you could never get this girls back alive. So I knew it would take time to see what we’re dealing with here, I spent a month observing and choosing my approach to this here. This gang is works almost like the Zetas in mexico Plata O Plomo, either you hand out the green or they hand you a spleen, that’s how it goes down with em” he explained
Bessie looked at him speechless, it amazed her how much detail he mentions to her about this where not many people know about how this gang operates let alone how ruthless they are. You learn many things as you go one could guess. She looked through the papers which had mug shot photos of criminals and their records.
“so what am I looking at here” she asked
“all you need to know about the structure of this particular cliq is right here. The leaders, their lieutenants and so on. He pointed out
Bessie looked at him again “ can I ask why are your even giving me this to begin with, you could have given this to any officer around here.”
“ people need someone to trust around here and so far the only thing people trust these days are they’re instincts and that’s to stay the hell away from the blue uniform and the only thing the police been doing is keeping track of their numbers and quotas otherwise they’re paychecks come up short.”
Bessie sighed loudly, one of the biggest downsides that she and the others face and she cant really blame them for it.
“so we have this now I guess we arrange a meeting on how we can approach this” she said
“We? Who said there would be a WE here? I definitely don’t remember saying that over the phone did I?” he said in a sarcastic tone
“ Hold on I thought you were going to help on getting these woman back right, you said it yourself we’re on the same page right?” she said to him
“ I never said that you did and like I said people in this city need someone they can trust and one person can’t do it all. Blood and violence doesn’t always clean these streets up scums like these guys but you need someone that can work the system in they’re favor. They least you can do is prove you can be trustworthy to them?” he said
Right there she felt uneasy about the info she was given her eyes narrowed at him “HOLD IT how do I know your not luring me into a trap here, come back here, you and I, WE are are in this together…..” before she could finish her sentence the street lights suddenly began to flicker before everything around her became pitch black. After about 5 seconds the lights suddenly came back on and the black hooded furson suddenly vanished into thin air
“WHAT!?” she gasped while keeping a battle ready stance, trying to spot him. She searched the area for 10 minutes asking passing pedestrians if they saw a hooded person walking by. But all told her that the paths were deserted the whole time they were there. For the towering bovine it was starting to feel as if she’s been talking to a ghost the whole time. Whatever the case at least now she has both the location and time. She pulled out her phone and dialed Roxanne’s number “Roxy we might have a location, we need to move now I want everyone to meet up at pier 18” she said as she ran back to her SUV, the night was only going to get more interesting from here.
If you were to spoke the most powerful and most dangerous member of the cyber marshals you probably might be the craziest bastard in NYC. what can I say Blackjack knows how to make an entrance. for the most part at least Bessie can breath easier knowing that a group of families are gonna be reunited and another group of criminals are either gonna be in prison for life or six feet under. all thanks to a unknown source

Its very highly possible that he's more dangerous than her, he's not only powerful enough to take her on he's also very intelligent. not only does he know how the streets work but also how the law works. Not to mention satanic groups, you wonder why street gangs shit themselves over this guy
Thanks man
Yea he's cool and humble guy despite being very dangerous
All depends on how the CM perform on they're duties, so far its looking good
Like TRAIN mentioned he isnt well known to the public like Lady Liberty is. He works under the radar and away from public eye due to the fact he's killed SO MUCH people over the years
