"Bird Island in view!" yelled a pig as their navy approached indeed from the island.
"Good," said Leonard. "Stop and give me five minutes."
As the order was relayed, Leonard jumped overboard, but Ross, who was next to him, clearly saw that his amulet was shining.
And thus was not surprised as he watched him turn again in an overmuscled giant.
The pigs cheered as their king started stomping towards the island, now a small model for him.
"All right, birds! Prepare to... to... Whu... WHAT?!"
Every other pig stood in stunned silence too, for they were seeing an unpleasantly familiar red bird grow to the same size as their leader.
"Surprised?" smirked Red.
The smugness in his voice shook Leonard back to his senses, and he took back his approach, as Red firmly stood his ground.
Their pecs collided with such force that the shockwave was felt by everyone, birds and pigs alike.
"No wonder your friends weren't scared last day," spat the bearded pig.
"Gotta admit I was surprised by what they told me. And not pleasantly," snarled the big-eyebrowed bird.
"That's actually better this way. Crushing you will be so much more satisfying, featherbrain."
"Took the words right out of my beak, porker."
Thus were born the insults they'd trade forever from now on.
But the two enemies didn't come to blows just yet. They kept, in a display of macho intimidation, pushing with their pecs, bending their arms to make the muscles bulge, glaring daggers that would be too big to be used even as swords...
And started to grow even bigger.
Meanwhile, at their feet, the pigs decided to try and attack.
And the birds readied the slingshot and the defenses.
