I made another stuffed animal!
This is the third plush I've made. And since I have absolutely NO idea how people come up with patterns for things like this, I tried an experiment. I started out by making the basic shape out of pipe cleaners, then covered that with a layer of paper taped together, marked up the seams, and cut it all apart. Then I was able to flatten the paper pieces and come up with a workable pattern.
Results of the experiment: not worth the effort. The whole process took WAY too long. I must have spent a good month just shaping the pipe cleaner / paper model. And I didn't take into account how much the fabric stretches when you actually STUFF a stuffed animal, so a lot of it came out looking pretty formless in the end. I had to modify the head quite a bit to get it looking decent enough.
I also used a fluffy fabric for this that I found on sale, but it ended up being a lousy fit. Too clumped and woolly for good wolf fur, and it doesn't trim too well for the shorter bits, like the face.
Still, I think it turned out alright for what it was! And it was a fun project and a learning experience to boot!

Oops, I meant to include something in the pictures for scale, but completely forgot about it!
He's about 1 1/2 feet high to the top of his head.
And it would be neat to be able to make and sell plushes, but I'm not sure if it'd be feasible. It takes so much to make one that I'm not sure how to make it both affordable and profitable.
Thanks, though!

You did a fantastic job, don't beat yourself up because it took a long time. Honestly it's worth it.
I mean look what you did,you made an adorable chubby wolf plush, regardless of all that trouble of trying to make it, You pulled through and made something wonderful.
Isn't that more than enough to be proud of yourself?
Most people dream of having that kind of patience and perseverance to make stuff.
You're definitely something special dude, keep up the wonderful stuff.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm proud that I actually made something, and it didn't turn out too bad. It's just the experiment for coming up with the pattern ended up being more trouble than it's worth. There's got to be a good way to make stuffed animal patterns, I just have no idea what it is.
But thank you all same!
