Aurelie's parents spent years telling her what to avoid. Snakes, raccoons, hawks, and, perhaps most importantly, mines. While canaries might seem stupid to the casual observer, they are very observant and quite well aware that those few canaries who are taken down into the mines aren't prone to return. Why is it that Aurelie decided to become a miner then? Perhaps it's simply because she was told not to.

I decided to try some shading and lighting practice with this one since I've never really... Well, tried it at all before. I'm personally pretty pleased with the results but I know that I can do better. I'll leave it to you to figure out how the mining pick is suspended there.
