I like the lofi, low-tech sound of the instruments, along with the arrangement.

The melody is interesting - is there a "non-swing" version of the melody I could listen to somewhere? :D

No problemo. It's quite the haunting little tune. Most Icelandic melodies are. They're very charming little melodies that seem to capture that Nordic mysticism in a way no other culture does. If your'e in the mood fore more from Iceland, look for a tune called "A Sprengisandi". It's really cool.

I was going to razz you for having that beat-line in there (Chhh-ch-ch-ch), but you actualy make it work and work well. :)
