nevermind that. two days ago, I was shown SEVERAL reasons why my concept wouldn't work. I ended up cancelling the rifle design because of it.
I do, however, consider the posibility of instead shifting to something more simple, yet effective and more easily compatible with real-life usage: Quick Crossbows (not kidding. a crossbow that could be reloaded more quickly, while still keeping its kick could make a difference in hunting, or in Medieval warfare)

ah, well in that case I think the Chinese repeating crossbow might be a good place to start. ^_^

I know of the Chu Ko nu.

what I mean, however, is to make a middle-term fast-loading crossbow...
one that retains the accuracy and power of traditional crossbows...while not being as painfully slow as them.
the trick in here however, is that I intend to include a fixed mechanical piece which could be used manually to easily (and quickly) load the cord into position, so that the bolts can be shot quickly.
with a middle-term of such kind, a hunting weapon that's faster than a musket, and with as high of a penetration power as a well-sized shotgun slug...things such as Hog hunting should be easier (and, in the case of rabbit or deer hunting....faster)
