So, does the rifle use Crystals as Ammo in place of lead shot? Or are they used as a propellant? Either way, this is another awesome piece! ^_^

Basically. ^_^ The hammer strikes the crystal via firing pin, which releases a burst of energy that is refracted and refined via refraction in the reflective-lined barrel and exits the barrel as a beam of energy.
