And I remember everything,
Everything I loved,
I gave it away like it wasn't enough
All the words I said and all you forgive
How could I hurt you again?
What if I let you in?
What if I make it right?
What if I give it up?
What if I want to try?
What if you take a chance?
What if I learn to love?
What if, what if we start again?
All this time
I can make it right
With one more try
Can we start again?
In my eyes,
You can see it now,
Can we start again, can we start again?

SPOILERS FOR DARKNESS OF DRAGONS.
As she turned to look at him, Peacemaker had a sudden flash of recognition. He had seen this dragon before, not in the waking world, but in his dreams. Every night for as long as he could remember there had been that face. He had seen this dragon smile, he had seen her laugh, and he had seen her cry. He had heard her speak with love and with fear. He had reached out towards her and felt the warmth of her scales, only to wake up all alone. In some dreams she spoke of the future, and in some she was silent. In some she held a twisted crown stained red with blood, and in others a bracelet made of wire and stones that glowed like the moons. In the dreams where she held the crown she also wore a pair of glittering earrings and her expression seemed dull and unfocused. Thinking about it called up a pang of regret he couldn’t quite explain. In the dreams where she held the bracelet, her eyes were clear and her mouth was set with determination as she held it out to him. If he took the bracelet everything would go dark, and then he’d wake up to find her gone. He’d call out to her over and over, but she was nowhere. It would be as if she had never existed at all. More than once he had woken up crying. He had called out her name so many times in his dreams, but he could never remember it when he woke. Even now, looking into the eyes of this dragon that he had for so long feared did not exist, he could not remember. “Peacemaker, this is my daughter, Truthseeker,” the old blacksmith rasped. No, that wasn’t it. In his dreams she had, had another name, a name he couldn’t remember. Then again, in his dreams, so did he. It was only at that moment that he realized that Truthseeker was staring at him as fixedly as he was staring at her, her eyes wide and perplexed, filled with a mixture of recognition and confusion. “Do I…” she started, and her voice was just the same as the one he’d heard every night for as he could remember, “do I know you from somewhere?”
Yeah, I’m running with this idea. Throughout the entirety of Darkstalker Legends we're told that Darkstalker and Clearsight are soulmates, so who’s to say they wouldn’t find each other again in another life? The idea of reincarnation is mentioned at the beginning of Escaping Peril, so I think it could definitely work in canon. So here these two are as Peacemaker and Truthseeker (my fan interpretation of Clearsight reincarnated). This meeting will set off a chain of events that lead Peacemaker down a path towards a truth he may not be prepared to discover. Can he atone for the sins of his past, or will he slide down the same dark path he walked before? Find out in the fan fiction I’m most likely never going to write because I have too much other crap to work on and my motivation is as fleeting as new car smell.
