Mwahaha behold I am victorious in my local Warhammer 40K escalation league tournament. This is the first tournament I have ever entered and I just happened to win!
I was very surprised when I was told there was an actual trophy since I thought the tournament was just for fun. They even went as far as to get little plaques engaved with my army and name on it. Kind of an odd trophy I know but hey it looks cool on my wall and it doubles as another sharp pointy for my collection. I really love my friends in my gaming group.
I am proud of my Space Wolves. But I think the MVP of the tournament was the venerable dreadnought who pretty much walked all over a Sisters of Battle army by himself.

Actually when I had entered I had only played about maybe 6-7 games. So I have had my models and was interested in the game for years but never actually played very much. I have never lost a 1 on 1 game ever in the 50 or so games I have played by now. And on multi player games I have always tied.

Hmmm well let me see what all I can remember. It was an escalation tourny so everyone started off with 500 point armies and after they won a battle they would get a randomly generated piece of land that would give them more points. I started the game with a handful of bloodclaws, grey hunters and a Ven Dread as my HQ. After a while I added some more dudes and a Wolf Lord in terminator armor with a chainfist....If I remember correctly anyway...
Anyways I ended up fighting some newb with a Necron army and we fought over loot counters and I won pretty easy. He had just plain old necrons and lots of 'em. Then I beat the Tau in a kill game. I marched up and vice griped him in a city battle. Ended up killing a squad of fire warriors with bolter fire LOL.
I took on a imperial gaurd army and pretty much wiped the floor with them since all they had were like mortars and two sentinals with flamers *gags at the lamest fitting for a sentinal EVER*
Then I fought a sisters of battle army that was foolish enough to not have any anti tank other then one melta gun. So my ven dread marched over the whole army by himself with his plasma cannon and heavy flamer. The game was take and hold and it was decided that there would be bunkers on either side....flamers go right through bunkers LOL. Total army wipeout for him and I only had like 2 dead bloodclaws on my side that I sent in for fun.
After that it was me vs the previous tourny champ and his ork army. Kill game came close. Two truks full of boyz against my ven dred and grey hunters while a thirty man squad of orks and a weirdboy against my 12 bloodclaws and lord. The dred was immobilized but still kicking and the grey hunters were above half strength. The blood claws were down to a sargeant, one blood claw, and the lord. If he had remember to Waaagh and get the charge bonus for his orks and not let me get the carge he may have won.
There were a couple of other games some of them were team games but I don't remember who all was involved.
All in all I had no losses and won...

Ahaha... So I see.
The Necron n00b is n00b. Troops don't just maketh a Necron army. If I was him, I'd have a number of Destroyers and Immortals added into the mix. And made good use of them.
Tau lost is sad. Especially to the bolters lol
Imperial Guard army probably sound like it was commanded by a n00b as well.
Sisters were just silly I think. If the commander had carried moar AT weapons, you may or may not have a tougher time.
And well, tourney champ seems fun to fight. In so far, I don't know how to fight orks yet. I've fought all but them and the dark eldar.
