I picked up Clip Studio Paint when it was on sale a few weeks ago and after giving it a few practice runs I think this will definitely supplant PaintTool Sai for my sketching go-to.
The first drawing is just a random adventuring fox kit, mostly done with the default ink tools in it's sketching and bare lines phases. It might be awhile before I feel entirely comfortable using the ink tools here yet.
Next was followed by
FriskyWoods 's Byron as grumpy as he ever is. By this point I found the dedicated pencil tool set and it's done wonders so far, feeling much more natural than my attempts to recreate the effects in Sai.
Next is golden age comic book character Marmaduke Mouse, who is really shown at all levels of maturity from being a school-attending toddler to someone self sufficient enough to live on his own and have a love interest, despite not changing his diapered appearance one iota in the ranges in between. Guess that means he's got to be wearing those diapers for a reason after all.
Finally for really no reason it's a padded Neko from Secret of Mana. Really the only thing I remembered of him was that while he would carry exclusive equipment his common goods were usually marked up from any other store. Guess now he's selling some Cushie/SDK grade padding (with a no-doubt appreciable profit margin).
So far I'm digging how easy and quick CSP is making sketching and it's been getting me in the mood to give art another go, if at least for random early day works. This'll probably be my go-to for some time while I relearn doing art again.
For the sake of mentioning these had been previously posted on my Twitter account, and some stuff has remained exclusively on there so far, so check it out if you want to see some past and future unposted stuff
