While doing pixelated concept art to go in-game, I eventually realized that, outside of what people requested, all of my concept art was reptillian in nature. I made the pixel lizard weight gain, a baby dragon weight gain (still WIP), and used a dragonborn-esque creature as the test player model to try and test fattening. I wanted to put the "fur" back into "fat furs," so I went with one of the biggest fur-covered fatties in the animal kingdom.
This bear's fattening does give me a great opportunity to expand upon the force-feed mechanic, however, namely in that some enemies will change as their weight does in more ways than reaching immobility. For this bear, this is done through defence. The bear will likely be a late-game enemy with an okay attack stat yet a defence so high that he is practically invincible. He also takes longer to fatten than other enemies such like the lizard, as he needs more food to grow and has four stages of fat leading up to the coveted immobility as opposed to the three that the lizard had. However, while the lizard is only hampered by his growing belly when he reaches immobility, the bear is not so lucky. As he fattens up, his belly becomes bigger and bigger, giving an easier target to strike and this effectively lowering his defence. This is even visualized in the animation, as the bear's girth eventually pushes him out of his defensive stance. This interaction gives fighting the bear a unique means of taking him down, as you must wager how much food to feed him to lower his defences to a reasonable enough amount.
