Joey's first real case as a police officer (and potential detective) is one that he reopened by his mere existence, the mystery of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. He is the only surviving staff member to have reappeared in the last six years, so he returns to the restaurant to gather evidence and information, having been abandoned for six years. But late that night, he receives a phone call from an impossible source, and finds out the purpose of the amulet he found.
Ten years ago I was a Fullmetal Alchemist fan. Then it all faded away and was replaced by Sonic, and I wasn't able to get back into it again, so I missed Brotherhood entirely. In May last year I came up with the idea to do Fullmetal Animatronic as an FMA/FNAF crossover, but a crossover of ideas, and not characters or settings so much. Sort of like Kingdom Hearts, which created it's own characters and settings but still have Square Enix and Disney ones here and there. Obviously I've set up an alternate Freddy Fazbear's Pizza on Mugendal (twice), and drawn Remi and Joey as Freddy and Bonnie plenty of times. This is what PROJECT HAREWOLF was entirely building up to, for most of last year. Eight months I've been waiting to do this.
And while the idea has been done before, with Bonnie, I have to work hard to make my version make some semblance of sense and hopefully be able to be more serious. But hopefully be a way to do some fun world-building and creating characters who can just VAGUELY (only vaguely) resemble the FMA characters or FNAF characters even.
Since Remi/Snuffles is Freddy/Alphonse, that would supposedly make Joey Bonnie, but he's more like Mike Afton/Mike Schmidt/Purple Guy at this point. He's got so much metal inside of him, he's more like Raiden from Metal Gear than an Edward Elric type of cyborg. And he "Fixed" Remi/Freddy. But also the kind of character that feels destined for a video game, like Kung Fury or Jazz Jackrabbit.
I want to be able to create something that posits the notion that death isn't the final end, that there's something after, some form of afterlife. So even characters who die can still have a supernatural presence somehow. And it's where FMA and FNAF have a lot in common. Almost to the point that I have to wonder if Scott Cawthon was ever inspired by it... Animdude is one of his old usernames... maybe... maybe not... Anyway, it's not a coincidence I can exploit in just one picture, so it's taken eight months of plotting and scheming to get to this point somehow.
The final part of this is inspired by
maxieofficial's music video, Addiction, right at the end.
