I don't hate ALL Hybrids. I just hate those idiotic cliche stories of "oh yeah! he's like so totally half demon/vampire/werewolf/angel/etc;. and he fights against his own kind! OMG such an original story! ever watch Inuyasha!?"
Chimera's are ok, yes, not saying you can't do that =p
just curious on why though? just want to make yourself more separated from the average artist here? trying to create a new character but keeping Deige involved with the idea so as to keep the same personality? you were upset with all your previous alterations that you'd just wanna make him so unrecognizable of what he previously looked like? Trying to remove the idea of your character being affiliated with old art of the past? there are many more options I could list, but I'm stopping with my favorites =p

Well, I think the premise behind changing Deige is spawning from the changes that are occurring in my life nowadays. Its not that I'm unhappy with my 'alterations' or w/e. I'm always trying to find better ways of expressing who I am, so Maybe I'm just searching for the vector that can perform that action a little bit more eloquently.
so a physical representation is the best way of showing the alterations in your actual reality flowing onto your imaginative reality? I mean you put up a ref for your characters changes 3 weeks ago, now you need an all new ref just for these changes =p is it the mental stages that you're currently going through that makes you feel like this or is it that physical changes have been making you question things about who you once were?
does the deer represent some tragedy with the broken antler? or does it show the softer side of your personality in a mixture with the darker side of who you are in the wolf? Or is it the protective side of the Wolf that conflicts with the pacifistic side of the Deer?
I know I'm making way too many accusations, sorry. I'm just starting to hate change more then ever right now..

I think its the big shift from High school to College thats been raising the biggest changes, its a really big shift in my life, and its just been making me feel different.
I think the idea of the broken antler is a few things all playing into it. Its a symbol of all the abuse I've suffered before in my life, coupled with the inward conflicts of personality like you brought up.
And don;t worry about it, sorry things are going sour.

But don't you think you could go with a less "wham in yo face" symbolism for the pain you've been through? I know what I'm saying seems jerky, but someone has to ask and show the opposing side to all those people saying "that's so cool! you gotta have that hybrid!"
I'm encouraging in a different method of reinforced acknowledgment over what you're trying to accomplish.. if that at all makes sense.
you're feeling a change from your high school self to your adult hood, your college self. is it because you want to have that change, are you forcing the idea of the change? is it really changing who you are or just surroundings? Have you been becoming someone different, someone more "mature" from what you once were, or have you been choosing to feel the difference so as to say you're much more "mature"?
since you're metamorphosing into a hybrid, does this mean at some point you're going ot crack out of your hypothetical shell and become a full fledged deer at some point? do you see that as a possibility of you changing your personification from one representative species over to another?

I can;t really attribute the feeling of change to any type of known factor. Its just a different sensation actually beginning my own life and choosing what I want to do. Its not that my, as you put it, quote-unquoted maturity is becoming more developed. I just feel like I wanna take this oppurtunity to better attribute myself in a vector I use to show people who I am.
and no, I made him a chimera because its that fusion of personality traits in each species that shows who I am.

I understand the alternating personality traits between the two chosen species, I was only saying, you've made many alterations in such a short time for your character, I just got the feeling the alterations may keep continuing, till you feel slightly satisfied with it, which may change the subject Deige into more of a Deer/Elk like figure over the wolf style.
I'm not trying to say you're not mature, I know you are comparing to certain others, myself included, just the idea in my head keeps insinuating that you want to be more mature than you actually are. It slightly worries me.. but I'm a paranoid creature. my senses may not be as they use to be.
You're choice on how you represent yourself is of course your choice. Just curious on whether you're representing yourself to others or to yourself. Are you trying to prove something to yourself, or are you just basically doing this out of boredom of how you once represented yourself? if its the former, if you're trying to prove your perception of your changing life, is the Chimera the way you really feel because you feel a conflict of personality inside you, or is it that you chose the chimera for something else, passing it off as a representation that you want to get inside of your through process to force the idea that you are the Chimera?

I really love this picture.
Again, I like the character. Visually, I think he looks neat. He doesn't look overdone like a lot of mixed species characters. It's simple, and again, I think it fits you. I like the idea of a wolf personality and a deer personality mixing together, too.
