The young Thoa is the youngest male of his family, with his older brother serving as his family's heir to their shipping and distribution empire. Said family is of a long, unbroken line that has served their patron god since time immemorial. Embry was chosen to be the Avatar, and takes up the role with vigor. By day he is a wealthy young man about town who studies a few subjects of interest to keep from being bored, and by night is the protector of his home city from any and all supernatural threats, though he's quite happy to take down common thugs and robbers.
His abilities and skills as ordained by his role include knowledge of ancient Egyptian rituals and sorcery, especially those pertaining to the ones around death, which allow him to even summon, speak with, and grant peace to the dead and send them to the afterlife. Enhanced strength, reflexes, durability and stamina, and stronger senses in general. An odd ability he can't help but find amusing and have fin with from time to time is power over mummification in all forms, particularly the wrapping process. He can summon magical wraps to bind someone... or himself. He can even invoke the "Weighing of the Heart" ceremony to see the truth, and pass Judgement, though he himself cannot summon Ammit.
If needed he can invoke a stronger, "hybrid" form where he calls on Anubis' power to become something more primal. In times of desperate need, when all seems lost, he can fully entrust his form to his patron. By doing this he becomes little more than a vessel for the deity to fully manifest in the world, with Embry's personality being shoved to the side.
His chosen weapon and magic channeling device is a khopesh staff, which is sealed as an armlet that doubles as a transformation trinket. His mode of transport is a chariot blazing with ghostly fire, richly decorated, and pulled by a team of magical mummified war horses controlled by a mummy.
