Part 1:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2432360
Friends From Afar comes before Captain Scuttles in the ToS storyline. Scuttle, Cappy, and Fritter are joined by lead character, Lucky, and his father, Ducky, in this plot focussed story.
Lucky and Scuttle are engaged in a heated game of tag with Cappy and Fritter's favorite game being at stake should Lucky finally be able to tag Scuttle out. Unfortunately, the game has found its way into the capital building of Saurral Manor itself and, being kids, it is only a matter of time before an accident happens. However, no one is ready for how profound the children's little accident ends up becomming.

Awesome work as always Yosh.. I wasn't expecting Scuttle and the gang to end up finding something as "fantastical" as a dimension-traveling device. It was totally unexpected, but very interesting! One of the things that I think you pulled off marvelously was how Emino explained dimension traveling to the little kids. It was cute, funny and most importantly, made sense!
This new turn of events gives me much to speculate about, but even then, I'm sure any successive stories to this one will still surprise me!

I'm really glad you enjoyed the overall flow of the story, Tacki. When I write them, I really try hard to put myself into the mind's of the characters and, in doing so, often find myself re-writing certain sections until I know it is both something the character(s) would truly say and/or a matter the character(s) could truly understand and appreciate.
My next goal, of course, is to try and edit the rest of the series to see what the Literary Agents have to say. In the meantime, I may opt into dropping select portions of the tale on here for you and others to enjoy. There are some that are just too fun to keep locked away for only a possibility of future publication. The haposaurs and their world are a major part of me and to share that with others is perhaps one the greatest, personal joys I can do. :) Oopa!

Ehehe, oh yeah! I usually think of the Amino Acid guy, well that's what I think of when I hear his name, as a human... I forget he has the longer, lanky arms and eyes and things...
And I think I just realized that Cuddle Cubs are maybe supposed to be a parody of Care Bears. ;P Naptime and sleepy might be similar if I remember... hehe.
Hmm, I wonder if I have this right or not: the Victoria jewel thing broke - it was the bridge to the other world, and that's how Emino came into their world?
But inside that same jewel is the purple fog that made everyone become lazy and uncool later on?
Aaaand is that the only way they can travel worlds, if it breaks open?
Though I guess I don't wanna know eactly what the fog is yet - that's what reading the whole, bigger story would eventually lead to. :B
Hehehe, a good story brings questions to mind!

<LoL!> Amino Acid. You always have a way of finding the most unique points in my works, Oxnard. I couldn't help but share that with my wife who, at this moment, is on a nearby PC checking her mail as well while we have the chance to do so. :)
Oh, you are right about the "Care Bears," too. Cuddle Cubs are an homage through my writing to those lovable, caring critters. Though, thanks to copyrights and stuff, I had to be clever and develop different names and varied nuances. There's actually a whole story I wrote where Cappy and Fritter go ga-ga for them and learn the importance of returning lost items to their owners.
As for "Dimenonsial Travel," I'm a firm believer in there being many ways to do so. Victoria's Brooch did not need to be broken to operate, but the fact it was broken kind of caused it to do so by accident. Emino is actually one to prefer opening up his own gates out of thin air for inter-dimensial journeys. That's kind of how I portrayed Nishidor doing so in the "Creative Campaign."
I'll be honest with you on something, too. You kind of got me on the "Purple Fog" aspect. See, in my universe, purple mist exists big-time in a place I refer to simply as "The Planar Void." Because of this, inter-dimensional gates may have a tendency to have traces of it as The Planar Void is a kind of "mid-point" between a Point A and a Point B. The purple mist that later appears in "City of Solitude" is actually just touched by this gap in space. Your imagination can take it from there. :) Oopa!
