There's stories of those things actually being in New York Sewers, that is pretty messed up, even a story of two real CHUD being seen in the original movie to. I'd believe it, there is a lot of weird stuff in this planet, and visiting this planet, who is to say there aren't CHUD in New York Sewers and subway systems?

Its based on the film, but who knows? There's probably all kinds of things down there congealing in a corner and eating people. I do like to think of the obscure.

There is stories of them being in New York City sewers apparently going back years well before the movie was ever made. The story is that people go missing quite often in New York particularly from subway platforms when thy stand at either far end. Talked to a couple people online and they told me a few stories about either living in New York or visiting New York, and they told me they'd seen things that might back up the stories. Can't say its tru or not true, but with all the weird stuff on this planet, I'd not doubt that it could be true, but I'll keep my mind opened to the possibility that it's not.

So the movie is based off of urban legends and incidents?

I'm not sure if it was, but it would make sense I think.

I figured that it was based on the film, and that is one of my all time favourite 80's horror films to. I saw a thing on TV about it in the 90's it was how I heard the stories. Evidently the scene in C.H.U.D. in the sewer when the camera is on a tunnel with two holes in the walls directly across from one another, and see a C.H.U.D. clear the tunnel jumping from out one hole into another evidently that one was real. Also the scene later on when you see the sewer lid get lifted up and you see something looking out from under it, apparently also was not one of the actors. Don't know if it's true at all, but that is the stories surrounding the movie, take from it what you will just find it interesting myself.
