I've been experimenting for awhile with the concept of making Leon some kind of fey creature, especially after hearing The Decemberists's Hazards of Love album. I found this satyr-esque look works quite well for him. Don't worry though, this isn't permanent.
This was also a good chance for me to really see how far I could push basic backgrounds, and in doing so I figured out how to create my own custom brush presets in photoshop. Now I've got a halfway decent leaf brush to use!
