It's very handy! :D But do keep in mind to save an 'upload' version of the picture if you don't want to upload the original size of it for any whatever reason you may feel. There's no specific settings for that on the site itself.
Also double-uploading a picture removes any image compression brought on by the site usually changing a file to a .jpg and compressing it. Also handy.
