Father's Day 2008 was a most interesting day for me. This is because, for the first time, I was able to buy my one year old son a toy that he actually loved.
For months, he'd insist on going to bed with the musical seahorse and, to my delight, I found his older cousins to be envious of the wonderful gift that I had managed to find for him on my special day.
I couldn't help but get warm fuzzies every time I made my son's bed and had the oppotunity to ensure that his musical seahorse was right in prime position for night-time snuggling. After all, it was the first gift I had ever found for him that he truly loved.
Flash forward to today, my son isn't quite as enamored with the seahorse as he used to be. However, I still try to keep the battery good on it and place it in a special place in his bed so, in case he needs a special hug, the musical seahorse is there for him.
Now, I've never been much a fan for Seahorses until late. However, the fact that the musical seahorse meant so much to my son has given me quite a solid feeling towards these wondrous super dads of the sea. It is for this reason that I now would like to pose a very special thank you to
azuredragon
azuredragon has a very neat cover he performed of Joco's "Seahorse." When I listened to it, I was immediately touched by how it reminded me of my son and how magical the seahorse I had found for him was. It makes me proud to be a father everytime I hear it and, for that reason, I wasted no time in visiting Amazon.com and purchasing the original. I play it from time-to-time and always get a smile when it magically teleports my mind into a joyous, paternal state where I could honestly think of nothing better than the fact I am blessed to be a dad to a son like mine.
If you're interested in hearing this most touching of songs, I encourage you to check out

That is an interesting matter to think about. Especially when you consider, if I'm not mistaken, the dad does all the raising of the young.
The animal kingdom is quite fun when you think that, in addition to seahorses, male penguins, at least the emperors, are kind of the same way. Though, I think mom's have a role in raising the young in the penguin case more than in the seahorse case.
Human society can really learn a lot from the seahorse, penguin, and other fellow creatures of the sort. Males, despite how it may be played out in movies and such, truly do play profound roles in the lives of our offspring and, therefore, we should try to respect that more by leading by good example and showing that mom and dad are a team. Yup, yup!

The plushie seahorse looks really cute! (: I want one too! Ehehe.
But that's a nice little story - I'm glad you could get him something he really likes, even if eventually we move onto different things, I know I still have my ugly gorilla doll in my closet still!
And I think your drawing is very nice! :3 The seahorse's eyes are my favorite, they look so stylish~!
