The correct/most literal translation would be "Jagged". Don't trust Seribbi or however you spell it for correct/literal translations. A "notch" is when something is missing. There is clearing nothing missing from the ear. The Japanese word used could mean, notched, jagged or zigzag. And like I said, since there is nothing missing and that isn't exactly a zigzag, the most correct/literal translation would be "Jagged"

Sorry for the rant, but I grow tired of the seribbi's butchered translations taken for exact.
