Well, most of you probably won't know about it but let me tell you a tale about a series Capcom worked on during the Game Boy Advance days called Megaman Battle Network. The series is pretty much an alternate universe where Dr. Light creates the Internet instead of making robots, and that is where those two girls came from.

Mayl is a regular school girl, but on the Net she controls a Navi (fancy name for an avatar) called Roll, who happens to be extremely cute ^^. The series gave birth to an Anime series of the same name as well, which also spawned several things that became canon to the universe, one of which being a cat virus that could travel through the Net and the real world and could literally turn people into cats! As you all can see, in controlled environments the effects of the virus are very awesome ^^.
