Maybe.. You can still have the lead guitar, but maybe try balancing it more, so it's more subtle I think the reason it sounds perhaps sounds more pure is because the melody and the lead guitar are quite similar using a lot of the same musical ideas, you could also try EQing and reducing it's presence so it's still there.. But just for extra texture or something, either way both sound good to me, but I definitely get what you mean from the description, but yeah just like the other good work ; w; !
