LopinxKass
God those feels are so real, and in a panel where Kass is freaking out being held by "his" best friend on top of it!
However this turns out I still hope Lopin stays in his position. Despite what happened, as it really, really was not his fault. They don't even have answers for it yet (not complaining I'd rather see all this playing out so much instead of oh your human again like...basically ever).

Oyster was a real flavor of ice cream that was supposedly the favorite of Dolly Madison, the wife of the fourth president of the united states and "Father of the Constitution." Clearly she (and possibly her husband) was a yinglet in disguise. Nuts to the Free Masons, the Yinglinatii conspiracy is real.
For grieving in Humans yes, but Kass is a Yuglet now. So it may be a little different, that and no one has died. So after the Depression could come more fear or hysteria, And that didn't look like Depression, it looked like shear terror. And in the last few pages, Kass clammed his fear of loosing his mind. I feel like I would very much act the same if this happened to me. The thought of your mental acuity leaving you, your body so much weaker, and a fear of everything even when your brain knows it's not scary. It's almost the same as a Degenerative Brain Disease, Like Alzheimer. But on a good note there, this problem has a stopping point well above functioning levels, so Kass has a much better chance, then other unfortunates.
Got it, Kass confirmed to now be salmiakki flavored. (That stuff is terrible it goes on the short list of things I regret putting in my mouth and chewing on, along with chicken feet and raw sea urchin, and frankly salmiakki is much worse then chicken feet: watch people suffer "Kass-flavored" candy here.)
This almost feels like a personal demon for some with gender identity issues
More so and then some for Kass. I mean gender AND species change? That's a lot for any mind to cope with....wondering about the oysters though. Isn't there a chemical in them that causes ones libido to bounce back sooner?

Wow, really good. That image of Kass in the corner, then Elim picking her up even though she doesn't want it. Her breakdown, the middle of the night anxiety, it all makes a great about of sense.
Lopin is such an adorable doof.
I like how he and Kass are a microcosm of the Yinglet species, in the sense that he's representative of most Yinglets, suddenly sapient in a complex world that isn't built for them and they don't understand, flailing around and accidentally discovering things or killing themselves, while Kass is smart enough to realize how totally screwed they are as a species, like some of the other matriarchs. Her outsider perspective really drives it home, as she has a great understanding of the other stick she's measuring against.
Also, I'm eating a lot more oysters now because of you. :)

I certainly am not. I'd probably crush the yinglet that tried!
Kass does seem to be awfully quick to discount possible solutions to his problem, since magic obviously exists in this world, and he wears officer's livery now. Heck, even the lifespan issue isn't anything a good healer couldn't fix.

I started following you recently. Mostly because I happened across your Lifts-Her-Tail comic elsewhere. I wasn't aware you had any other comics.
Seeing you post this, I decided to take a look from the very beginning, and I ended up reading the entire thing today. It is... excellent. The amount of detail you put into every little aspect, the amount of worldbuilding, woven in so well with the storyline, the amount of effort that went into creating the characters, fleshing out their personalities... Everything.
I can only call this a masterpiece. You might think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. I had to stop myself from posting on dang near every page about how funny, heartfelt, and fascinating everything was.
In the span of a single day, you've become my favorite comic writer.

Yeah, these two comics have really introduced a lot of readers to each other!
And I always knew that doing things the way I have in this comic might appeal to a smaller audience, but hopefully have more of an impact on the ones who did enjoy it; so hearing things like this really makes me glad I made that decision. It's motivating to hear that I/this comic is anyone's favorite anything!
Glad you're enjoying it, because it's really just getting started, with most of the real good stuff still yet to come.

I don't doubt it! It's clear you've known where you're going from the start with this, and I'm very excited to see where we end up.
And, regarding the small-audience-large-impact thing... Admittedly I am just about the perfect audience for this. I find TFTG themes fascinating in general, and love seeing deeper explorations of how characters would react in those sorts of situations. I'm actually writing a story of my own with similar themes. So it makes sense that this would have such a big impact on me personally.

Seeing the comment above, this comic's definitely my fave one that I've ever come across because of the ways it draws you into the world and characters, and how balances story and humor perfectly. Like I said, I'm not much of a reader, so for this to get someone like me to read not only the comic, but all the descriptions and comments as well is quite a feat.
Also as said previously, this is exactly the kind of thing that's happened to me a few times in my life, so that's why it hits me in the feels, but not in a bad way since it does make me smile from how Kass has his friends there to help, even if she doesn't want to accept it (a character flaw I also have). For me, well, the worst time is not something I'd want to make public, so let's just say it involved the permanent loss of a close family member. You captured the feeling quite well with Kass being curled up in the corner crying, and it's great how you used the humor with Lopin to break the tension of the scene.
Hang in there, Kass, you've officially hit the bottom, things can only go up from here. Lopin, goddamnit, get more oysters!
Oh, right, I've been doodling like a page worth of practice yinglets, I gotta just toss them up here or something...

I've got maaaaaany doodles now. I'm gonna try to pull myself away from doodling and other things to dig my scanner out. All I have to show them off is a camera, and I'd like to post my whole doodle sheet along with some close-ups of choice ones.
My avatar is also my doodle. He's looking at the nebula and stars in the sky, saying a very yinglet-y thing to say: "Zhe sky is made of maaaagiic..."
Oh, and BTW, I didn't forget the eye whiskers, I'm still figuring out to get those right without messing up my tiny doodles... no undo button with a pencil.

Welp, I just spent most of today reading this comic and I have to say, love it.
Extremely deep in terms of culture and personality of this world with different histories and peoples going about their lives together in a melting pot.
Seriously why you are not employed by one of the many game companies who are trying to build worlds that turn out half as flushed out as yours in beyond me.
