Muddy 2017 Reference
Nothing interesting to see here, haha. Just posting this here for convenience's sake.
Not a perfect ref sheet but it's a step up from the last one.
Misc. Notes:
- Muddy walks the border between what it means to be a human and what it means to be a dog. She is fascinated with the thoughts and ideas of human beings but also appreciates the simplicity of a domestic canine. She struggles with her identity and does not fit in completely with either humans or dogs. Other dogs or "dog people" may chastise her for putting more stock into human logical reasoning over her natural born instincts. Humans look down at her for those same instincts and canine antics that differentiate Muddy from the humans she tries so hard to fit in with.
- Muddy grew up with body dysmorphia pertaining to her big ears as a kid-pup. She steadily grew more comfortable with them as she got older to the point of embracing their silliness on her own. There is still a bit of insecurity there that causes her to get a bit flustered and embarrassed about them if someone continuously teases her for it. The ears are touch-sensitive, albeit in a good way. She enjoys having her ears messed with, played with, and even groomed. She sometimes absentmindedly nibbles her ears in a nervous tick of sorts.
- Muddy's name derives from the pattern on her back that has the likeness of a mud splotch. Though the name can be misleading, Muddy practices good hygiene in the same way that a human would be expected to. She will admit, however, that she enjoys rolling in patches of grass just as much as the next dog. Nature dirty is the "good kind of dirty". As much as she enjoys interacting with the outdoors, though, she likes to emphasize that she's a dog - not a wolf. Every adventure ends best with a warm bed and a bowl full of food.
- Her personality closely resembles that of a basset hound with a bit of the beagle's independence and liveliness mixed in. Like most bassets, she can be a little lazy, extremely goofy and a bit sassy. Because of these traits, she gets along with cats just as well as she gets along with dogs and humans. Sometimes she'll even admit to feeling a bit more like a cat some days, which is her way of explaining when she's feeling more introverted.
- ... uh. More to come if I ever feel the need to add anything. ;P
