Part 5 of my Raksura design series.
This piece features River, a warrior of the Indigo Cloud court. He was one of the members that was vehemently against Moon's presence in the court. Within minutes of Moon arriving, River sends young males out to intimidate him. When that fails and he realizes Moon is a consort, he clearly feels threatened and eventually approaches Moon himself. We later learn that River has almost taken the place of a consort with the reigning queen, Pearl (there is a huge lack of consorts in the court at this time). However, since warriors are infertile, his position is not as important as he believes.
River is undoubtedly loyal to his queen. He obviously cares for the well-being of the court, but suffers from grand delusions about his role. many of his good traits are unfortunately buries by the fact that River is very much a bully. Aside from his hostile attitude towards Moon, he's thrown his weight around weaker Raksura, including Moon's best friend Chime, even attacking him while moon was gone. This has lead to many confrontations with Moon, all ending in Moon either beating him in a fight or using his natural role as a consort to intimidate River into submission.
He's basically the Draco Malfoy of the series: the residential antagonist, but for the most part is harmless in the grand scheme of the story. I'l get to the villains later on the series.
* I do not own the character or the Raksura series.
