Ah your welcome. ^ ^ I too must nod to NIMH as my source for inspiration, for without Don B.'s classic works of Robert O'Brien's story, I might have lost my taste for western style toons completely. Yet it is because of D.B. that my own OC and Fursona Yuki and Miyuki are what they are today. ^ ^

Jonathan has passed on in both the book and the movie. I really can't in good conscience include him in my NIMH drawings since the story is so much based on him having already died.

Yes, well I would like to say that I’d like to think that Jonathan Brisby isn’t actually dead, but had somehow been picked up by another band of mice, brought him back to their sanctuary, and healed him. Eventually, he would regain the strength to return to his family when he could, but this in a bit of a head-canon of mine, because I just can’t imagine Mrs. Brisby being without Jonathan nor her being with Justin—the latter makes no sense to me, and is too overused if you ask me.

Just out of curiosity, what you thoughts on crossovers? And have you seen Star Wars too?

Yeah, there is a significant fan base of people who like the idea of Jonathan still being alive. In fact, back in the early days of the internet, late 1990s, there was a fanfic written called The Rats of Thorn Valley. It was very well written, depending on your tastes. If I remember correctly, Jonathan's death was faked as part of a plan to return to NIMH and find the serum that was originally used to alter the rats. The fact that he was still alive was only known to a few of the Rats, in fact Nicodemus might have been the only one who knew. I'm probably messing up the premise a little as it's been 17 years since I read it. Judging by your like of Jonatha, you'd probably like the story a lot. As long as you're okay with how the characters are portrayed............Darn, it's not on my hard drive...........Ha, found it, it's still online.
