Little bit of practice on a realistic rat face, and my eyes. Was gonna finish it, but I seem to have seriously hurt my left hand *left handed* It's hurting between the thumb and first finger every time I move it into a certain postion. Might have strained it some how.

But it's now to the point I can't draw with out causing myself to cringe and take a break after a tiny line. So some left overs, the came out nicely till I had to stop.

Rats face's are similar to bunnies in many ways, bunnies have a blunter muzzle, longer yet thinner ears.

While rats have a longer muzzle, a slightly wider to, their ears are wider, but not as long, yet still pretty long. A rats ears are not rounded either. Their more of a oval shape.

They ususaly are more rounded when pushed forward in their alert phase. Kain used to do it all the time in her cage. Normaly she kept them to the side and slightly folded.

like a rabbit rats does do the noise twitch, being a lot smaller it's harder to see but they constantly do it. Looks cute on them to.

Their pupils are very tiny and the black eye fills most of the eye socket. In this case I went slightly smaller then that. But still large eye in the eye socket.

The muzzle on a rat starts actully at the top of the eye then comes down at a angle to the nose which starts just below the eye.

Whiskers as well some times I draw kain with whiskers it looks so adorable. I might make that a perminate addition.

A neat little thing people don't realise about rats is they don't really have a thumb. If you look at a rat when you go to the pet store, you'll notice they really don't have a forthumb. It's more like a nub, they hold their food with their four fingers and hold it up to their mouth. Quite skilled at getting those nuts out as well.

Sorry rambling on I just love my rodents, when I move I might get some more. Oh well.
