I spend a lot of time in the woods these days, for a plethora of reasons, some good, some bad. The problem is that this has significantly hindered my ability to make art. So, I started carrying a field notebook, so I could sketch and study the world around me. However, I also wanted the darn thing to look cool, so I leathertooled a cover and added a 'window,' behind which are several pressed plants, including moss, fern, and the leaves of maple and mulberry trees, dandelion, raspberry, clover, and mint.

Another very nice book.
As someone who works with leather from time to time (even if by far not on this level of proficiency) I like the contrast of the very accurate seams around the edges of the actual book and the rather precise "carvings" (paw print, etc.) versus the rough cut and far from straight edges of the cover and the circular cutout.
