I remember really liking Ripper Roo too! But it was mostly just design wise, as back then we only really had Twinsanity to go off of!

Plus, it's rare that the 'heroic glory hound' archetype gets played so straight, but Darkwing pulls it off absolutely perfectly. I also really enjoyed the later NegaDuck characterization where he just seems to genuinely believe that everyone should be evil and mean. Like that's just the way people are supposed to be and anything else is crazy and weird.

Also your creativity is infectious. Thinking about alternate universes made me think of the magic helmet episode, it might be fun to come up with an obsessive fan from cartoon Earth who went a little billy after the series got cancelled when the helmet swapped universes and they started makin Rescue Rangers instead. I'll put it in my stack of fan characters for that particular universe, there are more than there should be.
