The Incident:
Nocthel was abducted and held captive by a Shivaara and her minions. He was tortured over a period of weeks/months with the end goal of making him succumb to his inner demon and revert to a full demonic form to serve the Legion. The stress of his ordeal caused the growth of smaller secondary horns on his forehead, and opened new glowing tears in his flesh as he slowly succumbed to the demonic influence.

Had he not been rescued, he would have eventually fallen; thankfully, Denaelthis found him before this could happen. He refused treatment from a healer due to the perceived shameful nature of the abuse he endured, and suffers nightmares from the incident. The two remained holed up in secrecy for some time while he recovered. Despite this, it has only increased his desire to destroy the legion, and deepened his bond with his partner.
