So I've finally gotten around to committing myself to learning how to bitmap artwork - which basically means starting over learning how to draw because I've been a vector artist for as long as I can remember. Trying to draw in bitmaps rather than in vectors is completely counter-intuitive for me. It's like trying to play an accoustic guitar if all you've ever played is an electric keyboard... I think.
Also Bulbasaur is a Pokemon I never really chose as a starter Pokemon.
If you're not catching my meaning - I'm saying this is a deep, meaningful and symbolic piece of art.

Really it's my first fan art piece; I have been doing bitmap work but those have been mostly life studies.
I can draw something I have reference of just fine, but drawing something from imagination - and more specifically colouring it - in a bitmap artworking program, has been a difficult thing for me to get to grips with.

Indeed.
It's an odd thing - I completely lost interest in doing fan art about the time I think I'd learned everything I had to learn in regard to vector artworking; Now I'm learning how to artwork in a different way I've found a renewed interest in doing fan art (and artwork in general).
I think I lose interest in something if I feel like I'm not learning. I'd felt like I was losing interest in doing artwork for a while.
