Because today needs something both adorable and snuggly! I'm generally not a shipper with MLP (not until recently anway) but I've seen pairings I think are super cute. Nearly any pony with Fluttershy qualifies... SO! To that end I thought, it'd be sweet to show Pinkie in a rare quiet moment with her, and what better than a little power nap to recharge all her energy!
