Heh, I can imagine that these gems were enchanted to be undigestable by dragons, so Ember won't be able to shrink them down by herself, and thus she'll eventually have to waddle back to her kindom carrying a completely full belly, forcing her to get used to her new level of fullness. Eventually Ember will start craving more gems again, despite the fact that she was at her limit days ago, and thus she'll come back to Equestria to work again as a bank :Y
Ok here is the story. Couple of diamond dogs found a hidden stash of gems and didn't want to share. So they figured they'd hide the gems in Ember who was passing by looking for a snack. Now shes trussed up an pissed becaouse they wouldn't listen when she tried to explain that dragons CAN digest gems. Her initial hunger was satisfied looong ago.
