This is for those who want a fair election, not a false illusion of democracy where the canidates are chosen by an elite few, and of whom will still remain in power no matter waht the people decide. This is for those who want to live without fear of reprisals for speaking their mind or being who they are, be it by the government, or by a band of secretly hired thugs. This is for those who want to live free and in peace with their neighboring countries, not replacing one tyranny with another.
This one is for you, and you are not alone.

realize that no one will ever have freedom, with bigot heethens death riding us to hell, they'll always decide how we choose to live. The lies of the patriots, counting the lives and keeping the score, The body counts rise and the ratings will sore.
Governed countries sha'll forever be in the shadow of communism. But i honor your hope and dreams for absolute liberation.

Personally I like the symbolism itself, the gryphon is from that of legends and myths coming out of Persia which is that of modern day Iran. Most people I seem to run into think it came from some European country due to coat of arms but that isn't the case.
I do hope that country comes out of this for the better I mean why would they even hold elections if they already knew who they were going to pick. The guy they picked even then being a hotbeaded nutcase who seems to love stirring up trouble and blaming everyone but himself.

Although Mahmut and Jazmin aren't Iranian (they're Arab/Turk), they, like all gryphons, can trace their ancesrty to ancient Persia. These two in particular, are decended from Persian and Mesopotamian royalty, though most of their Persian blood has been diluted out over the centuries. Still, being gryphons, they do have a strong connection to their ancient homeland inbedded deep in their DNA...
On a side note: They (or at the very least Mahmut) don't condone the use of violent protest, and they DEFINATELY condemn the violent "crowd control" techniques used by the Iranian Thugs!

On that note I like how you have named all your characters that you draw. Granted I am a bit biased to equines and dragons, these gryphons are nice as well. I still remember going though your art gallery on the Lava Dome 5 site when I found it shortly after I discovered furry art. I was looking for pictures of macrofurs back then.
From what I have read of reports in Iran they seem to want to not repeat the protests of 1979 in all the bloodshed but they still want something done to rectify the vote and will keep protesting till it is done.

That's the thing about those who've taken power after such "revolutions." They'll do everything in their power to make sure that it won't happen to them as well, because they know that it can and will.

My heart is with all the good and brave people in Iran. I wish the suffering comes to an end soon. It is by far time that all beings all over this planet can speak their mind freely and unsupressed, no matter what religion, color of skin or culture they are from.
I was driving to work today as the radio reported about three million more votes then there are people there allowed to vote. 0o Skies, do they really think they can treat their own people like that....?
Skies. ^v^
