Since I'm a bit ahead of schedule with projects I have been working this week on developing my fursona, Luthien Nightwolf. Character sheets have already been established so now I'm on to the fun part...drawing actual pictures!
Yes, I have drawn her a couple times before, but I feel like this is a beginning for me. I have been observing other artists and some of the art they create featuring their own characters, and it has inspired me to really flesh out (fur out?) my own. This particular piece actually started out with a very different concept:
My fiancee introduced me to the music of Lady Gaga and I really like her song "Poker Face", and this was going to be based on that, hence the cards...she was going to be wearing lingerie and generally looking very seductive. But as I was working on it, perhaps heavily influenced by the music I was listening to (Inkubus Sukkubus), the picture started to take a turn for more of a pagan feel, and I decided to go with something more true to her/my personality, ending up with a very nature/wicca themed piece. Its got monarch butterflies (my favorite kind), tarot cards, a pentacle, a runestone pouch, and spread across the ground 7 magic stones in rainbow colors (cuz I also love rainbows).
My bearded dragon Spike got into this one too...along with a brand new signature/logo I'll be using for my anthro pieces from now on - LN, for Luthien Nightwolf.
*In other news completly irrelevant to this pic, my fiancee arrived in Oklahoma today...we haven't seen each other for 4 months and it goes without saying I'm VERY happy to have him back with me!

beautiful indeed. I love the face, and her smile in special, the rich, fuzzy fur, the outfit... pawhands! are they as soft as they look like? :)
and properly sized paws. I never can seem to get them large enough without them looking like pancakes. -.-
nice dragon, and nice little 'painting' on the wall. :) details like these add greatly.
