And a turnover! AC's gotta watch where he puts those big feet of his!
The beat's absolutely perfect. It's got that critical combination of steady beat, simple riff, and just the right amount of flourish to stay interesting. I knew it would be perfect the moment I heard it. You could sell this to ESPN or Fox Sports.
Thanks for letting me use your beat, BW!

"Look mom! Bunnies can fly!" I smell an inside reference...
Hmm, B Hop shows his best in the third quarter? A lot of athletes are like that. I heard from somewhere 'the last 2 minutes of basketball is where the real war begins'
The music makes it even better! And the podcast as good as usual. Can't wait till game 3! I hope one of the games is in Pittsburg for obvious reason *cough* anthrocon *cough*

Thanks, Big Z! Yeah, the music really helped out. Can't thank
baddwill enough for it, though I'm really looking forward to hearing what
rabitguy records for me, too.
Third quarter is always my favorite quarter in basketball. I think after the half, both coaches have had a chance to see how the other team is playing, they have halftime to draw up new plans and make adjustments, and I find that the play immediately beginning the third quarter is the strongest of a game. And yes, if the score stays close, the last two minutes of a basketball game can be insanely intense.
Well... the way the FBA Finals works is you only play in the cities that the teams are from in a 2-3-2 pattern, so it's 2 games in Stanislaus, 3 games in Huntsville, then back to 2 games in Stanislaus, if needed. They wouldn't be randomly playing in Pittsburgh, though-- I can see the allure. Sadly, I won't be making AC this year. Oddly enough, I will be travelling to Pennsylvania next week-- but that's to see my sister in Philly!

Yay, I finally got to hear this one! And I must say, B-Hop, you never cease to amaze me. That sounded freaking PROFESSIONAL!!! And forgive me if this crosses the line, but hearing you spout out all the little bball catchphrases with the delivery of the guys at Sportscenter but with a furry twist is like sex to my ears! I LOVED IT! It doesn't hurt that you have that perfect sportscaster's voice either! Seriously, you could catch a gig like that on the side easily! :)
You did an amazing job! Lots of personality and humor in the performance too! It's not just about stats. I love the whisker poke thing (I would think that's a foul, else a coach as crafty as Von Wasser would pick up on that and use it to his advantage as often as possible) and the tail wiggle for the doe's is a nice touch too! I totally imagined this whole thing in my head as a highlight reel! I would make it an animated highlight reel if it wouldn't take me 5 years, hehe.
On point of the game itself, that was a bold move sticking the rook Teronura in such an important game, but it worked out! He's a major defensive presence, that otter! Seems like he's more built for the center position, even as an undersized, Ben Wallace kinda center! B-Hop sure took it to the Mayors, 44 points and 12 assists?! Wow! That's one of the greatest FBA Finals performances for sure! I'm sure ZipNut is going to pick up his game at home though. Even with as talented a defender as Doral is, ZipNut is probably like Kobe in that you can't stop him, you can only contain him, and then only for a game. I'm sure he'll get the Mayors to put forth a more focused effort and lead the way into a very entertaining Game 3 (maybe even with my voice clip for him? I'm jealous of your mic now, because mine seems to not like VO's, even though it was designed for that...)
Speaking of great FBA performances, do you have a sort of historical database of past FBA performances? Like the greatest games, highest point/assist/rebound totals, spectacular clutch performances, dynasties and upsets, that sort of thing? That's always been something that has interested me. If 44 points is not in the top 5 highest point totals in the FBA I would be impressed! And I'm sure there's a furry equivalent of Magic Johnson, Bird, Jordan, Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Jerry West when it comes to spectacular players and performances in FBA history! I'm all about the history of the game. ;)
BTW, I'm going to be thinking about my stats and putting my name in the hat for this year's upcoming FBA draft (which I'm sure will be after the real NBA draft, due to timing). And you know it will be detailed, cuz that's how I roll. ;)
Can't wait to do more voiceover stuff with you if you have any room for me in your production! I don't want to step on your creative toes though, because this thing you've got going is truly epic and outstanding! Now I'm dying to hear the first one (which I can't get to play). Keep up the fantastic work and I will listen in each time with great anticipation! :)

Thanks, JT! Heh, yeah, I had to resubmit Game 1 to fix it up. But thankfully, this time I was able to get the freq right to work with the flash player, and I even added
baddwill's awesome music. Now you can leave another one of your delightfully long, detailed, juicy comments that I looooove so much!
And thanks! Yeah, the whisker poke thing seemed like a passable weapon for an otter on a moose. Though we'll see if the FBA lets it stand. I hear the Mayor's coach was really upset at the post-game press conference. And yeah, I'd love to make these into highlight reels, but-- yeah. It'd take me 15 years.
Teronura isn't a rookie, actually. The Thrust gave the Mudpuppies two draft picks in exchange for the big otter back in '06. Teronura's been the backup power forward for the Thrust for 3 seasons, and before that was with the Mudpuppies for 1 season. He played center in college, but was never considered tall enough to do it in the FBA, but that may change if he keeps up the turnovers! And yeah, B-Hop had a stellar Game 2. The team needs more of that from the bunny! Especially once Zip-Nut gets back to his home court. The squirrel is getting ready to show why he was a number 1 draft pick.
Hee...and yeah, my mic is awesome. I'm really happy with this. One of my company's audio engineers had told me that his #1 favorite VO microphone was an AT4050. I found a great deal on an AT4040, which is the same thing, just without the switchable pickup patterns. And it sounds soooooo good. I have to give my voice a little bit of a bump in the high end to overcome some early dropoff, but with that EQ adjustment, it sounds just fantastic. I've been super happy with this mic.
And, uh...no, I don't have anything historical on the FBA. Or at least, not much-- just the details I've given in the magazine article. Lance Cheval probably has a record somewhere-- maybe the most foul-outs in a season. But I'll see about drawing up some history-- it would be a great thing to have to help support everything else I'm writing.
And you can be sure I'll keep coming to you when I can squeeze you in! When it comes to making furry stuff, nothing is better than collaboration!

I work in sports, so yeah, I've had a chance to listen to a lot of sports coverage. And I used to have a job recording voice overs from professional voice actors, so I think I picked a few things up along the way from working with them.
Augh! And no, that was not meant as a dirty joke! I was being totally innocent when I was talking about 'ball-swatting otter paws'! I was just trying to say, Teronura isn't as fast on his feet or as quick as Billy Joe James, but he's got bigger hands, so he does a better job of blocking shots. You're the second person to ask me if that was meant as a dirty joke!

damn B-Heezy went straight bananas! or maybe carrots. whatever colorful veggie/fruit you need to express craziness. a loss like that is sure to light a fire under tha Mayors. they need to lock up Doral for Grand Theft Bball. straight thievery on the court! Digging the love for the coaches. Sometimes little roster switches like that can go unnoticed but definitely huge props for da carp.
