I can't wait for the inevitable "whoah what where are we what happened??" questions from the mega autists. It's the type of question that can only be answered with another question:
Have you ever watched a film or read a comic before?

Hawaii sure is pretty. It's nice seeing these guys outside in it every now and again.
I'm kind of sad to say that until this point I don't think I registered the fact that Leon's nose is pink. I love his face in that third panel, how fitting that he just so happens to be afraid of sharks.
The scene really is sweet. I would probably have a hard time relaxing around Simon though if I were Leon, what with the bad guys spying on me through him and all...

This probably isn't the best time to say this, but I have a theory. Meier is trying to evolve the Vul Race in all 3 of the possible paths of evolution; Biological, Synthetic, and Psionic. Now, granted, my only knowledge on these three come from the game Stellaris, but they relate to the comic as they are presented in the game. Biological evolution comes from improving natural physical elements in members of a species, such as the improvement of living tissues. Possibly, Meier's son is extremely large because Meier is testing out methods of biological evolution on him. Meier is a psychopath, so testing on his own son most likely isnt out of the question. In addition, he could also be testing (or planning on testing) on Sei for ways of psionic evolution, and this is what Sei is trying to get Leon to save her from. Sei's name could've even come from the word PSIonic. Lastly, and we actually know this, the FCA battle suit that Simon test is an example of Synthetic evolution. Synthetic evolution is using electronics or other-known living materials to improve members of a species. This is exactly what the battle suit does. It uses engineered materials to better the Vul's ability to fight. I also think it is no coincidence that only Vul can use it. Meier is trying to evolve Vul through these methods, not humans.
Most of this theory is extremely circumstantial, and most likely a coincidence. But Boneitis seems like an intelligent and well-researched person, so there is a slight chance that Stellaris' feature is based off of a book/article that Boneitis read (I looked for a Stellaris reference manifest, but couldn't find one.) But no matter what, it will be interesting to see how this theory plays out. I wish I would have thought of it at a better time in the comic :P .

Well, having played Stellaris isn't necessary for the theory, but if you want to get the jist of the part of the game I'm talking about, you can do so here: http://www.stellariswiki.com/Traditions#Ascension . I'm guessing Stellaris got their inspiration from something that also inspired you, and they just aren't saying anything about it.
Also, thanks for replying. I'm glad you think I'm gonna like the next issue, and I hope I will :D .
