Bio(Warning - overly long! Use space bar to skip if necessary):
Born in Shah Jahan to a wealthy family in charge of a multi-million dollar company, Celik Avci enjoyed a privileged upbringing with loving but occasionally strict parents. The jackal was noted to have a certain streak for violence from an early age whenever Çelik got into any scuffles with bullies. This greatly concerned his parents, though Çelik was normally amiable, friendly, and socially confident outside of said skirmishes.
Celik took an early interest in swordsmanship, and began his training with a hired tutor in traditional Uther-style swordsmanship at age 6. Celik's parents were hoping that the practice of this martial art would provide a healthy outlet for the jackal's more virulent tendencies. Celik excelled in the martial art like no other, his skill and aptitude bordering on super-powered. By about age 14, Celik had already surpassed his tutor.
Though largely apathetic in his studies, Celik graduated with a straight-A record during High School, though partially because of the urging of his parents.
With his honor student record and wealth, Celik was enrolled at Al-Kwarizmi Institute of Technology - one of the most prestigious universities in the entire world.
However, unlike high school, Celik’s grades declined rapidly, as the jackal had very little interest in academic pursuits, and instead indulged in a life of hard partying and debauchery. During his negligent schooling, Celik met the exchange student, Cruz Romero - a fateful acquaintanceship. The two bickered constantly, but were noted by the student body to be constantly by each other’s sides. Celik tried to get the studious and diligent Cruz to lighten up, while Cruz stubbornly kept to his studies. Cruz wouldn’t hesitate to bring up Celik’s own deficient academic record, while also noting his ability to solve certain problems with ease despite his lack of dedication.
Aside from college-life, Celik noted Cruz’s own interest in marksmanship and gunsmithing, and would invite him to assist him in a particular endeavor. Believing himself capable of transcending the sword’s obsolescence, he asked Cruz to help him in training his technique to deflect bullets. Cruz refused several times, citing the illogical nature of the affair, but Celik only kept prodding. Finally, just to get Celik to shut up, Cruz reluctantly agreed.
With a series of handguns starting from bbs to 45s coupled with a bullet proof vest and sabre, the two spent a series of months perfecting Celik’s bullet deflecting strokes. After a smattering of shattered ribs or two, Celik learned how to deflect bullets with nothing but a blade. Cruz chastised Celik’s constant practice as a waste of his time, but quietly noted Celik’s skill.
Inevitably however, Celik dropped out of school, partying as hard as he could before his parents would find out about his departure - wanting to have one last hurrah before the inevitable potential disowning.
About a week after dropping out of Al-Kwarizmi Institute of Technology, Celik had one too many drinks at the local watering hole and got into a bar fight with a particularly unruly customer. Said customer was none other than a contractor who worked for the PMC, Rebellis Internacional. The fight escalated until Celik whipped out a knife, but meanwhile his opponent pulled out a pistol. Thinking he had the upperhand, the contractor attempted to get Celik to back down, but the jackal refused to relent. The contractor then opened fire, but to his exasperated bewilderment, the young jackal deflected his rounds with his knife before carving him up into a bloody mess. Celik left the bar in the backseat of a patrol car, and the contractor departed in an ambulance.
While rotting in a cell, awaiting his charge - Celik was bailed out by none other than the contractor’s superior, who saw great potential in the lethal young man. Promised a career of both wealth and thrills, Celik was recruited into Rebellis Internacional to be trained as a glorified sellsword. The young, scrappy jackal performed with exception during training, but was noted to be insubordinate, bucking off many orders directed toward him. As well, although Celik displayed great skill in marksmanship, and could clear obstacle courses faster than others, he was noted to struggle greatly with learning how to grapple and fight bare-handed, and tended to have a poor grasp on tactics due to his impatience.
As naturally skilled as Celik was, he was quite poor at basic hand-to-hand - and due to his impulsive nature, Celik had a tendency to rush into danger with little to no foresight. Nevertheless, Celik was fast-tracked through training, his superiors wanting his skills delivered to the battlefield as soon as possible. Confident that Celik would get the job done, the company disregarded most complaints pertaining to his lack of discipline - caring only for his capability and potential as an efficient killer.
With his training concluded, Celik was deployed to the Fanian continent with the unit to “provide security” for the small country, Asah,as it was caught up in a bloody conflict against its rivalling neighbor of Hanti. The war claimed many civilian and military lives on both sides of the conflict, and Asah now resorting to hiring the support of a PMC to turn the tide in their favor. Rebellis Internacional proved to have a difficult time earning their pay as they too would suffer significant casualties against the fierce, loyal and dedicated forces of Hanti’s army, but they brought with them an ace-in-the-hole: Celik Avci.
The young rookie did not hesitate to leap into the heat of the fray, assault rifle blazing, and knife tearing through the throats and arteries of those unlucky enough to stand within the bloody jackal’s path. At first, Celik had been paralyzed with a profound shock as his blade plunged into the breast of his very first kill. But one by one, the young jackal’s kills accumulated; first came his acceptance, and next came enjoyment. The campaign had actively developed Celik’s blood lust, perhaps owing to one that was always innate to the young soldier. Celik Avci wracked up the highest body count out of any individual soldier that belonged to either Rebellis or Asah. The young jackal had proven to possess a most sanguine gift.
Though despite being a terror on the battlefield, Celik - being ever brash, charged straight into an ambush and was almost killed. Given Rebellis Internacional’s profit focused motives, they cared very little for Celik’s well-being, merely his usefulness as an asset. However, they were pleased to hear that such a valuable asset had made full recovery and would remain active rather than permanently suspended. It can be said however, that spending days bleeding and riddled with agony, alone in a dirty, unkempt tent with no air conditioning in the middle of a desert had more or less begun the souring of Celik’s relationship with Rebellis.
The final nail in the coffin with Celik’s professional relationship with the company came when his unit was assigned to guard the King of Ishtar during a civil uprising. Though they were expected to rough up some civilians as they suppressed the social unrest, Celik watched with horror and disgust as his fellow contractors opened fire into the crowds with live ammunition coupled with liberally chucked fragmentation grenades. The blood of the innocent trickled down the cracked streets as an assortment of mutilated limbs gathered along the storm drains. Although he had become a cold, hardened killer - Celik despised the needless slaughter of civilians. Henceforth, Celik Avci abandoned his contract to Rebellis Internacional and struck out as a freelance mercenary. And from then on, the blood-stained jackal carved out his legend in the mercenary world as a living hurricane, a blade-dancing warrior who glided around the field of battle with supreme grace and struck down all enemies in his path with immaculate precision.
Celik Avci marched all around the globe, taking part in conflicts within the continents of Theya, Fanes, Borea, Lux, as well as parts of Erebel. Wherever Celik went, his offshore accounts only swelled and many bodies followed. His reputation soared all around the world as soldiers and mercenaries spoke in awe and fear of the infamous “Ahriman”. With his fattened banks, Celik enjoyed a life of luxury and extravagance whenever he found time away from the usual “insert money, insert bullet” business - luxury hotel rooms, enough booze to drown a small country, extreme nights out on the town, exotic top-of-the-line sports cars, you name it. But little did Celik know, that an old friend would seek him out. As Celik lay passed out after a wild bash in a recently acquired penthouse within Sam-Seoul, he was awoken by none other than Cruz Romero - his old college frenemy.
Cruz came to him with an offer, or rather - a wager. If Celik could deflect a shot from Cruz’s gun as he had done years before, Cruz would owe him a favor - and given Cruz’s accumulated power in the the world’s criminal underworld, this was no mere pittance. But, if Cruz successfully shot Celik, the jackal would serve the jay as his right-hand man. Celik wasn’t one to turn down the thrill of a wager and agreed with amusement. As soon as the Jackal shook off his latest hangover, he commenced his impromptu duel with his old colleague. To Celik’s shock, the bullet curved past his predicted trajectory and hit him dead-center in the chest - knocking him off his feet; needless to say, the jackal was thankful he was wearing a bullet-proof vest. Having lost the wager, Celik saw no choice but to do his friend’s bidding and serve as his effective henchman. In the present, Celik Avci serves as Cruz Romero’s most trusted enforcer as well as occasional financial backer - the one trusted to carry out his most dangerous objectives. That being said however, Celik has a bad habit of electing to ditch and ignore any missions that bore him in particular - often infuriating Cruz. Though regardless, Cruz takes no actions in particular when Celik shirks his missions, a privilege that belongs to Celik and Celik alone.
Although Celik’s relationship has become strained with his family due to dropping out of school to become a mercenary, he still writes letters to his parents every now and then. Celik has them delivered them through a network of couriers in order to keep his path hidden from the eyes of the law. Meanwhile, Celik tends to complain loudly about the fact that Cruz will not pay him for his work...although that is partly justified by Celik’s own negligence. Occasionally, Celik has been prone to derailing some of Cruz’s schemes and plans - sometimes because they aren’t interesting to the jackal, and sometimes because they’re too ruthless, even for Celik. And somehow, despite Celik’s liabilities - Cruz still refuses to do anything about it, a fact that is entirely noticed by Cruz’s other partners and cohorts.
Attempts to bribe or turn Celik against Cruz have oddly failed despite the jackal’s vice-addicted and hedonistic nature. As much as Celik moans endlessly about his current employment, he remains close by Cruz’s side.
