I was drawing a dragon headshot and it turned into Peril. The sketch originally had a concerned expression, which didn't look in character. Anyway, I had fun creating the look on her scales, which according to the books, have a burning glow closer to the skin/hide beneath the scales; and the tendrils of steamy/smoke that emanate from them.
Coloured with Promarkers and some Polychromo pencils.
