This sunset scene depicts two of my characters, Tleyotl and Cuauhtzin. In their story, jaguars and eagles are considered polar opposites, rivals both in their nature and the legends told in the Prehispanic cultures. These characters, however, went through a series of events that made them form a very unusual friendship, one that would impact in the fate of both species forever.

Originally I had planned to draw them looking over the ancient city of Tenochtitlán, which was built over an island in a lake, but fitting the city itself in this drawing turned out to be more complicated than I thought, so I ended up abandoning the idea for now and did just the lake.
I think I could have done the clouds much better, but overall I'm still proud of the final result :D
