Fancy anime-styled fireball made using Cycles Toon BSDF, which is fast becoming my preferred shader for most purposes.

Tip: turning up the emission values on Emission BSDF nodes will vastly increase the intensity of the compositor's Glare node. I've known it for years now, but when you want to make stuff light up something fierce, it's my go-to solution. Beats trying to add glows in post.
