Backstory:
Basically, in a stream, I asked the people around
lionkinglover12 about the other world, and they mentioned places like the Solar Academy and Stellar Academy, all that had their different styles of teaching compared to the Lunar Academy (which has some... truly unusual people on its payroll.)
As a random gag, that became more developed and serious, I suggested a 'terra' academy to go with the naming themes, and tried to think of how they would differ... that being that they kind of are rather hands-off about things and want you to find your own ways. The "Teachers" will help out, you just have to take the initiative to go to *them*. You know, they can tell you where the water is, you just have to drink and find it.
Though if things happen, they step in - it's on multiple leylines, there're all sorts of horrible things within that jungle warped by them. Though as for the plot hook as sort of a collected narrative of the place, basically... it's trying to keep something IN.
...something besides desk monsters. >.>; The way I imagine it, is that thing takes the form of something you want, so that it makes you want to get close to it and let it devour you. Morgan probably saw that Nintendo switch-I mean Hybrid Video Game System she wants so much. (I guess Mall Rats is canon now. :P It's why she would wanna go there)

Really, this was supposed to be a "First actual episode" following a "TV movie premiere" (I guess) but that one... I've improvised, stopped, deleted and rewrote shit a bunch of times, stopped, dropped, rolled, lost the urge to do it, regained the urge to do it, hit a brick wall, wrote a hole through it, retconned then rewrote, and just... ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!! I can't get it right! D:< I can't make it "feel" natural. So I decided not to off it, just kinda... leave it as having happened, get to the meat of things, and post it.
basically I sort of introduced the main characters, like the eccentric and lazy Dean of this place (you gotta be to be running THESE places), the 'mama bear' type who seems to care, our seven students, and some of the other 'teachers'.
And when it comes to Grizz oh so casually eating people to convert into stuffing and be a near infinite storage... I blame you Whitestripe, Kanada, and Inktail. >:(

So is this a part of a larger universe or series? Because the way you describe it makes it sound that way. Also it may be just me, but the way the faculty in this seem to regard the students seems unnecessarily lethal, in that they don't actually seem to have any care in the wellbeing of the students from how the regard the possibility of them getting killed or tf'd in totallity.
To answer the first question, yeah, it is - it's part of the world that
Lionkinglover12's stories are set in, though there're a few other authors in there.
It's also not just you, actually. Truth be told, a lot of the teachers in these academies seem to be rather... apathetic or not interested in teaching, and sometimes they're the type of predators that inhabit the world itself. In Terra Academy, they come off as... apathetic, but if something is dangerous they'll step in or if someone asks them for help. (Oaksiszmi was happy to step in cause as far as she knew, there weren't any deskmonsters in here.) Terra's philosophy is more 'do it yourself'' and 'rely on your own strength'... so yeah, they're more than willing to let you fall down so you can get back up and learn what will make you fall, so to speak.
There're others, like how someone mentioned one that teaches to do whatever it takes (Even bribery) while another teaches teamwork.
