A Thursday Prompt story:

A simple guard working for a crime boss watches as an unusual "customer" enters the premises.
I actually enjoyed this one. It flowed from mind to paper only slightly better than normal, but I think it rather well. (Translation: I'm only apprehensive instead of preferring burning it to posting it.)
Sorry if parts of this come across as sounding more like an art critique.

I like this. Harry's train of thought is interesting to follow. He obviously has the skills and insight to do the job he has and getting to 'listen in' on his appraisal tells us about both him and the object of his scrutiny. It's a nice little vignette that plainly hints at a much larger and complex world. Good stuff!
Thank you. I kind of like this style where you tell a story from the view point of the secondary/minor characters. I don't think I've read any books written in that manner. I think the movie Sucker Punch(?) played out in a similar fashion, but it's been so long I don't remember.
Hate? Not really. It's more unsettling and I don't get the point. Every time I see one, a devious part of me wants to tie a piece of string to it and pull them around like a bull. =/
I used to know some goths back in high school, but I never worked up the courage to ask them about what it meant to them. They wouldn't have been upset, but that's just how I am, the fly on the wall.
