Alright here's the final. I decided to try my hand a little bit of shading, thus the darker regions. It's hard to tell, but in white areas I used a very light gray which is put on a bit thicker in shaded regions
The major lines are in thin sharpie and the colors and shading are in colored pencil.

Looking good! He's adorable; i think your lines are effective! Not too many, but each contributes to the piece nicely :) Only suggestion would be maybe to load it into a program and make the whites whiter somehow, just to add a bit of energy and touch :D
