Merle and Moyra are not sisters nor do they remember how they ended up like this state, whether it is through magic, science, dimensional folding, etc. All they remember is waking up in a back-alley dumpster and having to relearn how to walk.

Before they were joined together, Merle and Moyra were cashiers at a local family owned gas station. They didn't really see each other often to know one another but after they joined they had to learn quickly. Things like driving, walking, and typing were all difficult but possible after some time together. However the one thing they couldn't get working was the issue of the bathroom. Whatever process merged them didn't necessarily account for their body's having different thresholds for using the bathroom. Here in the picture we have Moyra teasing Merle about the "temporarily solution" to this issue.
