Quick sketch painting with a cheap sumi ink kit. This is the second time I've ever used (semi) traditional sumi ink and brushes.
Anyone familiar/experienced with sumi? Let's chat!

I'll move this to scraps in a bit.

This is awesome - I love it! Ooooh, I've always loved foxfeather's sumi pictures. I'd so love to try it myself, though I know it would end in an epic fail. Just cannot draw well enough.

The sumi-e kit I got was $5. No question it was well worth it. And don't worry about messing up. It's all part of the learning process. =)

I am definitely continuing with these, they are very meditative for me.

You will try it when I visit for certain. I want you and me to find a park or some place and people watch and paint. It's a bit of a request/demand. =)

It's the quick simplicity I thik, and the way the brushes hold such a large amount of pigment while still forming a point to optimize the varying stroke possibilities.
