Here is the second half of the 8 page story I completed utilizing all the wonderful advice that I have acquired through the kind assistance and grand collaborations I have had with all of you. In reading it, I not only hope you enjoy the story, but also provide some feedback so that I know if I really am getting better at conveying a story.
Overview
Scuttle has invited his two younger friends, Cappy and Fritter, over for a fun day of play. However, when his great new idea fails to hold the attention of the youngsters, Scuttle heads off on his own in search of adventure and gets himself in a bit of trouble.
Part of the lovable, short story series The Tales of Silmaria, this exciting installment stars the two youngest and second oldest characters in the series. In it, Scuttle learns to better appreciate the unique qualities of his younger friends.
NOTE:
To help make the story more accessible, I have saved it in Rich Text Format (.rtf.) I hope this helps all of you who are not in the possession of MS Word. :)

Gosh, if you told him that he'd get all bashful and be all a scamper. :) Cappy is all about being a part of the group. Even though, at times, he gets a little scared at what his older friends suggest for games every now and then. :)
A fun question I would like to ask is if you believe it would be fun to post another of these up here? If so, I will try and implement the concepts learned from writing this one in cleaning up one of the many classics I have written over the years.

It would be pretty cool to see a re-envisioned story of yours. Though I would leave the decision up to you. If you want to do something like that then do it. It's the same with me... when I want to draw a certain thing, I draw it. Really, if that's the project your muse has in mind for you it's probably best to do something in that area.
Personally I read most (if not all) of your stuff because they're entertaining reads. You have a good sense of how to write a story. Each one of your tales always has an intriguing plot whether the characters are armored knights or kids with wooden swords. So many other writers here on FA seem to have the wrong agenda (telling a story) when they write their stuff, not to mention horrid grammar and spelling! You don't have to worry about me passing up on your next story, whatever it may be, I'll be eagerly waiting for it.

*blush* Kazootles. I really don't know what to say here. I never thought I'd ever find someone who actually would "look forward" to my work. Hearing this from someone as innately talented as you is the greatest gift I could ever ask for in any sense of the word. *Hugs*
Writing is a most tricky and wondrous thing. Just like art, I feel it doesn't take much for the viewer, or reader, to pick up on how much heart the artist, or writer, has for their material. That's why when I read that you put "x" hours into a work and/or notice a fun back-story to it, I get an extra sense of viewing satisfaction. In sum, you care about your characters and work and, thus, so do I. :) Oopa!

Hehe, I wonder how the story will be worked out when they tell it to their other friends. 8D
It looks like they really became good helpers at the end! Though, wondering around with cape troubles and oddly-formed pockeypants sounds silly too. :P Anyone can be a hero! :3

Yup, yup, yup! You got it! Scuttle is a character who is all about being a "Big Kid" and often fails to appreciate what it was like to be, well, littler. :) This story was fun to write as it gave me a chance to really expose Scuttle to the good times his younger friends could bring to his stubborn, overly eager to grow up, self. :)
Thanks for taking the time to read the whole story, too. I really appreciate the thoughts and time of someone as talented and fun to collaborate with as yourself. Oopa!

I'm glad you liked "Captain Scuttles." I've been meaning to write this for over a year, but finally got the right inspiration thanks to the wonderful advice and comments fine friends like yourself have provided me. After all, I didn't want to write another one until I knew I could do it in a way that would better suit my audience. :)
Hurray! Thanks so much, MJ. *Hugs*
Right now I am trying to apply the style of "Captain Scuttles" to my past stories in the series to see if I can make it publish worthy. Should I succeed, I am going to make my second endeavor to get noticed by the end of July. *crosses fingers* Here's hoping. :)
